Our vision was to break down the barriers that deter many from exploring the art of DJing and to open up a new, immersive world of music exploration that anyone could participate in and enjoy.
Our exploration began with a comprehensive review of the current technology in the music space. We discovered that there were several distinct aspects, including audio visualization, DJ setups, and projection mapping. We also noted the emergence of cutting-edge elements like smart lighting and AI DJ sets. Each of these components represented an opportunity to enhance the interactive and sensory elements of our design.

Upon arriving at Wemix, users are greeted by an inviting space designed to stimulate creativity and collaboration. The entrance acts as a foyer, serving both as a warm-up area and an initial introduction to the Wemix experience.
Upon entry, guests are given comprehensive instructions, setting clear expectations for their upcoming DJing adventure. This includes a tutorial, ensuring everyone has a basic understanding of the controls and equipment they will be using.
Once familiar with the setup, participants begin their 15-minute Audio + Visual Set. This is where the magic truly starts. One participant takes the DJ stage, while another controls the visualization stand. The rest of the group takes on the role of the audience, providing crucial real-time feedback.
This feedback shapes the DJing experience. If the audience isn't feeling the set music, transitions, or style, they express their sentiment through the disapproval button. This interactive element enables the DJ to adapt their set based on direct audience feedback, bridging the gap between performer and audience.
When the audience loves the set, they press the approval button, providing positive reinforcement to the DJ and aiding them in developing their understanding of crowd-pleasing music selection and transition techniques.
After each set, there's a brief 2-minute cooldown period. This serves as a reflective time for the DJ, a chance to consider the feedback received, and prepare for their next set. After this short intermission, a new DJ steps up, and the cycle begins anew. The rotation continues until each participant has experienced being the Audio + Visual DJ.
At the end of the session, the system tallies up the scores based on audience feedback, and the winning DJ is declared. This exciting finale fosters a spirit of friendly competition, concluding the experience on a high note.
